Freelance Writing & PR

I’m a Melbourne-based mum, writer, amateur photographer and Human Resources consultant.

I am available for freelance positions in the following areas:

  • content writing/management roles in both web and print-based publications with a focus on parenting, photography and/or social commentary;
  • social media management.
I have written content for:
  • Bub Hub (web)
  • Mother and Baby Magazine (print)

Areas of particular interest to me (with associated blog posts for a sample of my writing) are:

  • Raising Girls (Schoolyard Politics / Stories of Me: Brave)
  • Parenting (It’s a School. Not McDonalds / The Great Taboo)
  • Photography (Catchlights)
  • Social media (Why Twitter is like “Survivor” / 10 Reasons why I have a love/hate affair with Twitter)
  • Human Resources trends in Australia, with a particular interest in balancing work and motherhood (Working parents and the too-hard basket / Anatomy of a Redundancy)
  • Aneurysms (Babies and the Broken Brain / Stories of Me: Love Story)
  • Travel (Luminoso. It’s Italian for Bright)

My writing has a humorous, irreverent edge, but my style is flexible and can accommodate topics of a more “serious” nature. I am able to accompany my writing with relevant photos.

For freelance writing/social media: If you have a requirement for a social media consultant/manager, feature writer, columnist or content writer/manager, please contact me via my contact page.

For PR/brands: Whilst I am PR/brand friendly, I am very careful about the brands I align my blog with. I am passionate about supporting local/Australian-owned brands although will consider international brands if they are otherwise a match to Melbourne Mum. If you are a brand or agency interested in ambassadorships/sponsorships or affiliated links, please contact me for my media kit.

Disclosure Policy: Occasionally, I will write a post for an experience that I have received free tickets for or had expenses paid. These posts will be clearly marked as such at the top of applicable posts. I hold my readers in high esteem and my opinions are not, and never will be, for sale.
