For the past 3 years, I’ve embarked on a (very long!) “time lapse” project to take a photo of Inky on a regular basis to see how she has changed.
In the first year, it was every week, the second year it was every month, and since she turned two, it’s been every 3 months (with some slight wardrobe changes). It hasn’t always been easy. She may look like she can’t wait to get her arse on the study chair and have her photo taken, but there have been protests and much cajoling. Not being a fan of forcing a child to “model”, some weeks/months I’ve had to pack it in and try again several days later. Thankfully, she’s a generally happy and (sometimes) compliant child.
I can’t believe this huge 4.2 kg red-haired chubba that poppped out in a meconium-clogged, yet defiant, ball of silence has developed into this amazing, charismatic, curly blonde firecracker, with a feisty attitude and a caring soul.
Sometimes I kick myself, wishing we’d done this with Scout but then I remember my first world status and thump myself a little bit (metaphorically of course).
Have you done something similar? I would love to see it!
